New 6CV outboard from Yamaha

The Japanese engine manufacturer Yamaha presents a new 6 HP outboard engine and a series of developments in its low power range. An offer intended for small boats, on sea as well as on fresh water.

A new Yamaha 6 HP

While outboard news has been more often about high horsepower in recent years, Yamaha has unveiled a much more modest engine. The new B 6 horsepower engine is designed to meet the needs of recreational boaters on smaller boats.

It is a 2-cylinder, 212 cc engine. Its high torque allows it to propel heavier boats than the previous versions and its consumption makes it economical.

The Yamaha B 6CV is available in a variety of configurations. It can be installed with a tiller or a remote control for boats with a steering console.

Options for intermediate powers

Yamaha is also introducing different developments for its engines between 9.9 HP and 25 HP.

The Yamaha 25 HP is now available with electric trim and tilt, even for short shaft models. The option is designed to satisfy boaters who regularly sail in shallow water and often trailer their boats. This way, they can avoid recurring shocks.

The 15 HP outboard now has an electric start, with power lift and remote control capability.

As for the traditional 9.9 HP, a new configuration with an extra-long shaft is coming to the market. It features electric starting and lifting. A remote control box allows management from the cockpit. This outboard is intended for small sailboats in particular.
