Nauticales de La Ciotat : La Provence wants to make the show live all year long

Visitors on the Nauticales show

Newly arrived at the head of the Nauticales, the La Provence group displays its ambitions for the La Ciotat yachting event. Julian Rodriguez explains the strategy planned for the 2022 boat show.

1st Nauticales for the group La Provence

If the conditional is often required for boat shows since 2020, the 2022 edition of the Nauticales should mark the first episode of a new management for the show in La Ciotat. Scheduled from March 19 to 27 in the Bouches du Rhône port, this will be the first episode under the new public service delegation. The show, owned by the Aix-Marseille Metropolis, is now run by the press and events group La Provence, after several years under the aegis of Grand Pavois Organisation.

Bringing regional boating to life all year round

To obtain this award, the group emphasized its local roots and a nautical project beyond the show. "Before, the show only existed during the 9 days of opening and about 10 days before in the media. The idea is now to make the Nauticales live all year long and to make it the highlight of an editorial line living throughout the months. It is part of an ecosystem with sea content in the newspaper, highlighting professionals, with added value for local businesses," explains Julian Rodriguez, head of communications and marketing at La Provence.

For this, the group is also creating a Sea Hub, a network of professionals and institutions, to give visibility to the Nauticales brand in the Metropolis. Important local players should be announced in January 2022. The network plans 6 events during the year, around industrial or CSR issues for the nautical industry.

Develop the boat show during the week

To make the show grow, La Provence is counting on the whole 9 days, through animations. The new operator nevertheless wants to maintain the basics of Nauticales. "It remains first and foremost a trade show with dealers of local exhibitors, the shipyards being present via their distributors. To attract visitors throughout the week, we plan to hold conferences during the week, but also a stadium with speed runs. Erplast is already a partner with the OneFly. There is a dynamic with the Olympic Games in Marseille on the horizon" concludes Julian Rodriguez.
