Launch of Orca Retail
After a first attempt without significant means with Orca distribution at the end of 2010, Orca has decided to relaunch an offer for boat repair. The new site, called Orca Retail, allows the specialist in products for rigid boats to sell fabrics on demand in small quantities, as well as all the materials necessary for the implementation, glues and hardeners, as well as accessories such as docking strips or Nauta flexible tanks. Customers, both professionals and private individuals, can place orders directly with their own account and pricing. Delivery is assured throughout Europe.
Serving professional RIB repairers and retubers
With this new service, Orca intends to offer a service adapted to its professional customers. "We are mainly targeting dealers and repairers or rental companies who maintain their boats themselves. By selling by the meter, they can make repair patches, without having to supply large quantities and being delivered within 48 hours for most products. For many self-employed repairers who can't stock or cash flow large quantities, this is very suitable," explains David Ros, project manager at Orca Pennel & Flipo.
The arrangement is also positive for the semi-rigid fabric manufacturer. "It avoids repairers going through manufacturers to get scraps or through unknown foreign distributors. It brings follow-up and traceability, which is much better in terms of guarantee" underlines David Ros.
Services for boaters
Although they are not the main target, end-users are also of interest to Orca Retail. Experienced do-it-yourselfers will be able to purchase materials for their own repairs. They can also consult an interactive map of repairers for their RIB. "We also have a forum and a blog for technical advice and boat maintenance" concludes the project manager.
