Atlantique Bail Plaisance joins the national leasing entity of BPCE

Leasing is one of the driving forces behind boat shows

The position of Atlantique Bail Plaisance is changing within the Banque Populaire Caisse d'Epargne group, to join the national level. A change that offers growth opportunities, as Bruno Jarlegan, BPCE Lease's sales manager for the Grand Ouest Val de Loire, explains.

Atlantique Bail Plaisance joins BPCE Lease

The boat leasing specialist Atlantique Bail Plaisance is changing shareholders, while remaining within the Banque Populaire Caisse d'Epargne group (BPCE). Until now an entity of Banque Populaire Grand Ouest (BPGO), Atantique Bail Plaisance was bought on June 1st 2021 by BPCE Lease, the subsidiary of the BPCE group in charge of all the leasing activities of the French banker, also present in Spain and Italy. The Atlantique Bail Plaisance team, consisting of 3 sales representatives supported by several management staff, will remain based in Nantes. Contracts for clients remain unchanged. "It is the vocation of BPCE Lease to integrate all the leasing activities of the group. It is therefore part of a larger project" explains Bruno Jarlegan, sales manager for the Grand Ouest Val de Loire of BPCE Lease.

Pooling skills to serve the pleasure boat LOA

The BPCE group intends to take advantage of the operation to develop the activity of Atlantique Bail Plaisance. An important regional player, but with a presence throughout France, it will retain the same geographical scope as under BPGO's leadership and will work with the group's other activities in the yachting sector, such as Nautibanque and Caisse d'Epargne. "We will develop the leasing business. We have expertise in units ranging from 25,000 euros to several million euros. Drawing on BPCE Lease's experience and capabilities, we are working on a digital course that we are currently launching in production, which will facilitate the work of suppliers in drawing up quotations and evaluating the rental payments for LOA (Rental with Option to Purchase), but which will also enable yachting customers to take out their contract directly online," explains Bruno Jarlegan.

A key element in the growth of the boating industry with a favorable VAT regime, the LOA saw its taxation change in November 2020. To continue, the financing of pleasure boats must be inspired by other sectors. Approximations of the rest of the leasing actors, is thus not a surprise.
