Lowrance: Navico terminates electronics distribution contract

Lowrance changes distributor in France

Navico is reviewing its distribution strategy for the Lowrance electronics brand in France. A hard blow for the current distributor, MC Technologies.

End of the Lowrance - MC Technologies partnership

The company MC Technologies, based in Quimper, has lost the distribution card for the Lowrance electronics brand. The company has informed its resellers of the Navico group, owner of the Lowrance brand, but also of B&G and Simrad, to terminate their distribution contract, in order to redirect their distribution strategy.

The announcement is a heavy blow for the Breton specialist in marine electronics and computing, also a distributor of comfort equipment on board. The Lowrance electronics brand enjoys a strong reputation in the recreational fishing sector. Closely associated with the name MC Technologies, it accounted for a large part of the turnover of the SME, chaired by Yann Labbé, who also heads CN Diffusion, the Bénéteau dealer in Finistère. Founded in 2009 around marine electronics, MC Technologies employs 16 people and has partly diversified over time. In 2019, it had total sales of 6.34 million euros.

No official announcement of the new distributor

The choice of the new distributor is not yet official. Discussions are still in progress and the announcement should be made quickly in early 2021.
