Brunswick puts Navico brand back at the heart of its OEM strategy

The Brunswick Group announced the creation of the Navico Group, which is the basis for a strategic reorganization of its marine equipment business in the energy, digital and fishing sectors.

Creation of Navico Group

The American group Brunswick, a leader in the yachting industry, has unveiled a reorganization of its activity in the supply of equipment for yachting and naval. It is using the name Navico, a marine electronics company acquired in June 2021, to create Navico Group, a new parent entity for its equipment business, excluding Mercury for engines. It takes over the legacy of ASG - Advanced System Group - coupled with the two latest acquisitions Navico and RELiON Battery. Among the many other brands are such well-known names as Ancor, Attwood, B&G, BEP, Blue Sea Systems, C-MAP, CZone, Garelick, Lenco, Lowrance, Mastervolt, Marinco, MotorGuide, Progressive Industries, ProMariner, Simrad and Whale.

Navico Group is structured around 4 divisions:

  • Energy: development of energy storage, conversion and supply solutions for various end uses, including ICE generators and marine propulsion
  • Digital: integrated control experiments, on board and on land
  • Fishing: Integrating systems to help recreational anglers catch more fish
  • Performance: Portfolio of products in many sectors, such as fuels, lighting, seating, stabilization or water management, to serve different markets.

New organization chart

Navico's current leader, Knut Frostad, who has remained since the acquisition, will leave the company at the end of 2022. Brett Dibkey, head of ASG, will take over as head of Navico Group to continue its development strategy.

Locally, he is assisted by three regional directors: Marty Bass for the Americas, Ton de Winter for Europe Middle East Africa and Jarrod Sagar for Asia Pacific.
