Temo winner of the DAME Award 2020

In the absence of a physical exhibition for the 2020 edition of METS Trade, the annual meeting of professionals and equipment manufacturers in the nautical industry, METS Trade Connect was held on 10 December 2020. On this occasion, the winners of the DAME Design Award innovation competition were announced, renamed in this year disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, DAME R&D Excellence in adversity Award. The 1st prize was awarded to the electric tender engine, inspired by the Temo 450 motorbikes. The invention of Frenchman Alexandre Seux and his team from the French start-up Temo, presented in our columns at the end of 2019, was selected from 47 candidates. "The Temo 450 is definitely new and something the jury members had never seen before. A lot of research and development work was necessary, which was our target for this year's special prize", says André Hoek, president of the DAME Design Award jury.

4 other nautical equipment highlighted

Unlike in previous years, it is impossible to wander the aisles to look at and analyze all the competing marine equipment for price. In the absence of a classification by type of product, from marine electronics to fittings and seawear, the jury wished to highlight 4 dolphins of the Temo winner. They are
