METS Trade Connect: What programme for the digital version of the 1st BtoB boat show?

METS Trade reinvents itself on the internet in 2020

The METS Trade, the largest event reserved for yachting professionals, is replaced in 2020 by a digital event on 10 December 2020. More details on the programme and operation of METS Trade Connect.

A digital version of METS Trade to maintain and develop the network

Like most events in the boating industry in 2020, the METS Trade, which brings together every November in Amsterdam all the players in the yachting sector around the world, has suffered the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. Forced to cancel the physical show, its organizer, RAI Amsterdam, launched METS Trade Connect, a one-day digital event on December 10, 2020. Rhythmed by events and conferences comparable to the usual physical show, its digital platform also offers connections between nautical professionals, based on an algorithm of suggestions and the filling in of its description sheet. Individual appointments can be made via the platform, fulfilling the networking function specific to BtoB shows.

Technical and Economic Conferences on Boating

Throughout the day on December 10, registered visitors will be able to navigate between virtual stages corresponding to the usual METS Trade conference venues. Various topics will be addressed, from the state of the industry presented by ICOMIA, to yacht cyber security, foil, vellic propulsion, fouling and marine biodiversity, fibreglass recycling, boat design or "the future of green yachting". The absence of stands and aisles will perhaps make it possible to attend conferences, too often neglected in the tight timing of the physical show.

The Dame Design Award and the Boat Builders Award will announce the winners of their contests in virtual ceremonies in an unprecedented format. The awards will recognize the resilience of the global yachting industry.
