When bought, Eurocovers becomes the Navy Saddlery

Covers made by the Navy Saddlery

The Navy Classic group buys the Eurocovers saddlery, renamed Sellerie de la Marine. New name, new site and development to come.

A former client

Alexandre Planquette, a former client of Eurocovers, to whom he ordered awnings for his Navy Classic shipyard, was aware of the difficulties encountered by the saddlery. When the bankruptcy was announced, he asked about the file and finally presented a takeover plan. The court announced the award to the Navy Classic group in June 2016, which takes over all the tangible assets.

New site, new name and same team

All equipment and fabrics were moved in July 2016 from the former Eurocovers premises in Vaux-sur-Seine to the site of the Navy Classic shipyard in Asnières-sur-Seine. Projects for new buildings including a tack room are under study for 2018.

The former Eurocovers team, composed of a master saddler and a sales representative, also joined the new structure renamed Sellerie de la Marine. With the development of the activity officially launched in September 2016, recruitment is planned.

Boaters and professionals offers

Eurocovers offers all nautical upholstery products, from interior upholstery, including upholstery and cushions, to wintering and cockpit covers, including jackpot jackets. Specific products are studied on demand, such as bags. The Sellerie de France brand, dedicated to non-nautical products, should see the light of day shortly.

Eurocovers worked mainly with boaters via its website. La Sellerie de la Marine wishes to continue this activity, but also to develop the nautical professionals market by offering its services to new and refit boatyards. A first contract has been concluded with Silver Marine. A new website must be set up quickly.
