FIN takes over the organisation of the Nautic at Reed Expositions in 2017

Nautic 2015

Reed Expositions announces the end of its partnership with the Fédération des Industries Nautiques pour le Nautic, while justice must decide for the Cannes Yachting Festival. FIN takes over the organisation of a trade fair which has to face strong competition.

End of 20 years of partnership

Reed Expositions France, a subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions, is the leading exhibition organiser in France. He was in charge of orchestrating the Paris Boat Show since 1995 for the Fédération des Industries Nautiques, owner of the event. On the eve of the opening of the Nautic 2016, Reed Expositions announced in a letter addressed to the exhibitors of the show that the Fédération des Industries Nautiques had decided to resume the organization of the Parisian event, as from 2017, putting an end to 20 years of collaboration.

A difficult context

If the Nautic remains an essential event for the French yachting sector, it has lost some of its weight in recent years. Indeed, many professionals now claim that the Boot in Düsseldorf is the unmissable event of the European nautical year. Positioned in January, it is shading the French exhibition in December. The challenge for FIN will therefore be to reverse the trend in future editions, when many efforts have already been made in this direction

Cannes Yachting Festival, justice will decide at the end of December

If FIN has withdrawn the organization of the Nautic de Paris, Reed Expositions will meet in its letter to exhibitors in Cannes for the autumn show. Nevertheless, FIN indicates that legal proceedings are under way. The courts will decide on the continuation of the management of the Cannes Yachting Festival at the end of December 2016.

The Fédération des Industries Nautiques nevertheless remains reassuring and indicates that the Nautic and Cannes Yachting Festival will take place whatever happens in 2017.
