Orangemarine leaves the conquest of Europe

The specialist in the online sale of Orangemarine boat equipment raises funds to conquer the German, Spanish and British markets.

A growing start-up

Founded in 2011 by former Decathlon CEO Olivier Kauffmann, Orangemarine is a pure online player. No shop, all the sale of material, equipment for boats and yachtsmen, is done online. For the year 2016, the company expects a turnover of 8 million euros, up 66% compared to the previous year. The average basket is estimated at 90 euros, among the 39 000 references of the site. 20% of turnover is made up of Orangemarine brand products, developed in-house.

Investors to expand its market

Somocom and AlcoDev, two Belgian family offices within the Alcopa industrial group, as well as private investors participated in a 7 million euro round table. Its aim is to support the group's growth in Europe. Currently based in La Ciotat, Orangemarine currently employs 25 people and operates in the French and Italian fittings markets. With the new investment, the online shipschandler wants to open branches in Spain, Germany and the UK from 2017.

Increase supply

The company wishes to expand its catalogue with new references, both with external brands and with new products with the Orangemarine logo.
