Lightning protection: Dinnteco marine systems certified by RINA and distributed by ELNA

Lightning protection remains a sensitive issue on board yachts. Certification by a classification society provides concrete guarantees. A Spanish player has just taken a step forward in the European market.

Aboard pleasure craft and professional yachts alike, managing lightning strikes and electromagnetic fields is as much a matter of personal safety as it is of preserving equipment. Protection systems must meet precise technical requirements, particularly when intended for classified vessels.

RINA certification for DDCE Marine systems

The Spanish group Dinnteco has obtained RINA certification for its DDCE Marine range of marine devices, as well as for dinmar and dinfil systems, dedicated to the management of lightning currents and electromagnetic disturbances. RINA, an internationally recognized classification society, validates the conformity of this equipment to standards applicable to maritime and coastal environments. This certification attests to their suitability for installation on vessels subject to class rules, particularly in storm-prone areas.

Katia López, Managing Director of Dinnteco Group, underlines the importance of this recognition: "This is not just recognition of our technology, but also of the commitment and hard work of all our teams in delivering solutions that protect lives and infrastructure around the world." .

ELNA, European marine distributor

In Europe, Dinnteco's marine lightning protection systems are distributed by ELNA, a company based near Hamburg. Managing Director Leif Schick explains the operational scope of this approval: "Type approval meets the requirements of the classification society or flag administration concerned. In practical terms, this means that RINA has approved the DDCE lightning protection system for use on classified yachts" . This validation facilitates the integration of these devices on sailboats and motorboats subject to strict regulatory constraints.

For shipyards, shipowners and installers, this certification provides a clear technical framework in a context where lightning protection is becoming increasingly important, particularly in view of the growing number of intense meteorological events.
