Following the introduction of the SoLite concept in 2024, Webasto is preparing an evolution aimed at smaller units. The SoLite 12 and SoLite 20 models are intended to replace and complement the existing models, with the aim of providing a lighter, more suitable solution for compact t-tops and cabin cruisers.
Two versions designed for small units
The SoLite 12 will take over from the BlueSky, a well-known model in sunroof installations. This is a modernized, lighter version, with tinted glazing to reduce thermal gain - an often sensitive point on small units with high sunlight levels. The all-new SoLite 20, on the other hand, aims for greater versatility, fitting equally well on a T-Top or a small cabin. Both versions retain the DNA of the SoLite range: reduced weight, optional solar integration, blinds and LED lighting to enhance user comfort.
A focus on sustainability and energy efficiency
Webasto insists on the use of marinized materials for its future solutions. As Jörg Hornung, Vice President Aftermarket, explains: "Sustainability is not a buzzword for us, but the guiding principle behind every new product. That's why we reduce weight and energy consumption, and combine these efforts with robust marine materials."
He also highlights the development of a worldwide distribution network to ensure consistent technical support: "[...] to guarantee fast, competent support for our customers worldwide - whether in Europe, America or Asia."
SoLite 12 and 20 are announced for availability from 2026 a deadline that should be of interest to construction sites and equipment manufacturers looking for compact, low-consumption solutions for small units.
