Yacht Sentinel launches a new product combining alarms, connected boats and CRM

YS Pro brings together Yacht Sentinel's expertise in connected boat design, both for the customer and the shipyard, in a single product. Its founder, Romain Devismes, explains the path that led to this offer and its objective for yachting professionals.

Yacht Sentinel launches YS Pro

Yacht equipment manufacturer Yacht Sentinel has announced the launch of its latest product, dubbed YS Pro. This digital solution for the connected boat integrates all the company's know-how into a comprehensive offering, as founder Romain Devismes points out: "We started by offering intruder alarms, then developed big data to collect boat data on the NMEA network. Feedback from our customers was that they needed a single product that did a bit of everything, both the alarm system and the connected box. So we worked for 2 years to create YS Pro."

Alarm, connected boat, and more...

The new YS Pro is built around a hardware part, with a waterproof case featuring a touchscreen that concentrates information and system control. This is linked to the NMEA network and wireless sensors to collect boat data, from battery and motor to tank levels and potential intruder alarms. The YS Pro box also serves as a WiFi router, able to accept a SIM card or connect to satellite networks such as Starlink.

System calibration takes place automatically, whatever the installation on board, in less than 30 minutes according to the manufacturer.

Data is processed via two software interfaces. One is a mobile application for boaters, mainly for alarm management. The other is a CRM software application, which collects boat data to track customer and boat life for technical support, maintenance management and future model development.

The box will be available in 2023 at 1,600 euros ex-VAT, with sensors costing between 80 euros and 100 euros depending on function. A data transfer subscription is then required, which varies by zone, at 10 euros for Europe and the United States.

Keeping in touch with boating customers

In conclusion, Romain Devismes highlights the various needs that YS Pro meets: "Offering an App to the yachtsman is an increasingly important request from boatyards. As the equipment is generally resold with the boat, it enables them to keep in touch with new owners and track the life of the boat. We're already working on developments, such as integrating digital switching."
