METS Trade: The 2022 boat show is back in the spotlight

After the cancellation of METS Trade 2020 and a reduced 2021 edition, the organizers of the world's leading yachting equipment event have unveiled their plans for 2022. A new plan for the show is unveiled with the prospect of a near return to normal.

The nautical industry is always eager for METS Trade

Rai Amsterdam, organizer of METS Trade, the world's largest B-to-B trade show dedicated to recreational boat equipment, has presented initial information on the next edition, scheduled for November 15-17, 2022. Indicators are green with seven months to go, with 96% of visitors indicating they want to return to METS Trade in 2022 and 90% of exhibitors ready to sign up again. "The industry is keen to return to the world's largest BtoB event for the marine industry, after an extraordinary 2021 edition," summarizes Niels Klarenbeek, show director.

Electric and electronic boats at the heart of an expanding exhibition

METS Trade 2021 had seen a severely restricted exhibition plan, in a context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and a blank year in 2020. While this is not yet a return to pre-crisis levels, the organizers are pleased with the growth in exhibition space expected in 2022 compared to 2021.

Halls 9 to 11 are back. They will once again host the superyacht pavilion (SYP), as well as an important Dutch pavilion.

The Italian delegation joins the hall 12 with the pavilion dedicated to materials and construction.

The space reserved for innovation and electric propulsion, as well as products nominated for the DAME Design Award, is located in the heart of the show in the Elicium hall.

To anticipate a possible increase in demand, hall 7 remains available for METS Trade organizers.

Following the trend in yachting towards transition and digitalization, organizers are seeing an influx of requests for new exhibitors, particularly in electric propulsion and electronics.
