Suzuki Marine optimizes its outboard engines for easy maintenance

Marine engine manufacturer Suzuki introduces two new outboard models called DF140B and DF115B. These new versions are designed to improve engine life and maintenance, while reworking its aesthetic style.

DF140 and DF115 outboards upgrade to B version

Suzuki Marine introduces a new version of its 115 horsepower and 140 horsepower outboard engines. The DF140B and DF115B succeed the DF140A and DF115A. This range of thermal engines intended for medium-sized boats, between 16 and 24 feet benefit from an optimization to gain in durability and give a blow of youth to the design.

Available in black or white, the outboards adopt a sportier style according to their designers, with a new hood.

But the changes are not just aesthetic. They also concern the technical aspects, as part of a reflection on the durability of the engines. With this in mind, several points related to mechanical maintenance have been reviewed to allow the boater to enjoy his or her engine to the maximum of its capabilities for as long as possible:

  • The engine cover is redesigned for greater durability.
  • The transmission oil flow has been optimized
  • The oil filter has been moved. It is now accessible by simply removing the cover, making it easier to clean. The diameter of the oil level gauge makes oil change operations easier, with the possibility of using a larger diameter hose.

These new engines, exclusively mechanically controlled, will be available on the French yachting market from February 2022. They come after the October 2020 launch of the new electronically controlled DF140BG/115BG.
