The leader of the nautical video game Virtual Regatta has been acquired by the online game publisher 52 Entertainment Group. A development lever for the company founded in 2010 by Philippe Guigné.

Virtual Regatta integrates 52 Entertainment

Online gaming specialist 52 Entertainment has announced the acquisition of navigation game publisher Virtual Regatta. The company, founded in 2010 by Philippe Guigné, joins the group based in northern France, a leader in strategy games such as bridge, belote and online tarot. It is now 100% controlled by its new owner, while Philippe Guigné remains at the executive helm of Virtual Regatta.

A lever to develop eSailing, inshore and offshore

Virtual Regatta claimed in 2021 a community of more than 1 million active players. These sailors, virtual yachtsmen, participate in major events organized in parallel with physical ocean races. The virtual Vendée Globe 2020 had gathered almost one million players. The publisher now intends to accelerate its distribution with the support of 52 Entertainment.
