Jean-Luc Denéchau elected President of the FFVoile
The 141 representatives of the local authorities of the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile) proceeded on Saturday, March 27, 2021, to the election of a new president for the sports institution. Meeting by videoconference due to the health context linked to Covid-19, they appointed Jean-Luc Denéchau as the new president of the FFVoile, for a 4-year term. He is ahead of his only competitor, Nicolas Hénard, outgoing president with 56.68% of the votes, in a duel identical to that of the 2017 election. Businessman, the new president, 59 years old is president of the Ile de France Sailing League and vice-president of Nautisme en Ile de France. He was a member of the executive board of the FFVoile from 2012 to 2016, under the presidency of Jean-Pierre Champion who had designated him as his successor. From 2017 to 2019, he sat on the board of World Sailing, the international sailing federation. He had responded to our questions in December 2020 to clarify its program named "Let's build together the future of sailing"

In accordance with the FFVoile statutes, the winning list obtained 26 seats out of the 32 available for voting for the board of directors. We can note the arrival of skipper Billy Besson in the Denéchau team. Those familiar with the nautical industry will also notice the name of Yves Lyon-Caen, president of the Federation of Nautical Industries and member of the board of directors of the Bénéteau group.
