Worldwide distribution agreement
The German marine heating and cooling group, Webasto and electrical equipment manufacturer WhisperPower have announced the signing of a worldwide distribution agreement. WhisperPower products will now be distributed through the Webasto network in many European countries, including France.
An expansion lever for WhisperPower
WhisperPower was established in the Netherlands in 2007 to manufacture diesel generators and related equipment previously marketed under the Mastervolt brand. The creation of the subsidiary Hybrid Power Systems BV in 2009 enabled the group to develop hybrid diesel and electric drive chains for superyachts. The company is now experiencing strong growth that it wishes to increase with the support of Webasto. Roel ter Heide, CEO of WhisperPower sees this as a big step for his young company. "This will give us access to a vast team of specialized vendors who are experts in selling technical solutions to their customers. In England, we were able to gain a large market share in the automotive sector in a short period of time thanks to the collaboration with Webasto Thermo & Comfort UK. Now we're busy doing the same thing in the marine sector."
An electrical asset for Webasto
For its part, Webasto finds WhisperPower an asset in its strategy towards electric mobility. In addition to the well-known heating and cooling systems in the marine industry, Webasto also produces batteries and chargers for electric vehicles, a niche market in which the German group wishes to develop.
