Bruno Thivoyon to open Metstrade
The boating industry will be the focus of discussions as soon as Metstrade 2026 opens. Bruno Thivoyon, CEO of the Beneteau Group, will deliver the opening address and discuss the future of recreational boating as well as the key factors currently influencing its development.
This move comes at a challenging time for the industry. The latest analyses from ICOMIA and Boats Group note, in particular, persistent pressure on the volume market, while the premium segment is holding up better.

Three Major Themes for the 2026 Edition
The conference program will be organized around three themes: accessibility and inclusion, sustainable development, and emerging technologies.

The third focus area will be dedicated to technologies that have the potential to transform the design, construction, and use of boats.
Digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence will be covered extensively, as will advanced materials and new propulsion systems. The use of data and the development of connected technologies will also be part of the program.
The show will also focus on technology transfers between elite sports and recreational boating?a trend already evident in composite materials, electronics, appendages, and energy management.
More than 1,700 exhibitors are expected in Amsterdam
Metstrade 2026 will take place November 17?19 in 13 halls at the RAI Amsterdam, with more than 1,700 exhibitors expected to attend. The event thus retains its central role for professionals in the marine equipment and boatbuilding industries.
The traditional DAME Design Awards and Boat Builder Awards will round out the program. The former will recognize innovations in marine equipment based on criteria including functionality, sustainability, aesthetics, and user experience. The latter will honor companies and professionals in the boatbuilding industry in areas ranging from production to customer relations and sustainability.
In an industry facing, all at once, a slowdown in certain markets, environmental transition, and accelerating technological innovation, Metstrade 2026 aims to make its conferences a forum for reflection on the sector?s future developments.
