Digital Yacht sets up European headquarters in Le Havre

A specialist in on-board connectivity and navigation instruments, Digital Yacht chose Le Havre to strengthen its presence in Europe and develop its international markets.

Digital Yacht, a British company founded some fifteen years ago and renowned for its marine electronics, has just set up its European headquarters in Le Havre. The choice of Normandy's major port is not insignificant: it offers strategic logistical access, proximity to the French market and a showcase for export, as the brand's products are already distributed in almost 100 countries.

Growing on-board connectivity

The company has made a name for itself in the sector by offering navigation and communication solutions tailored to the needs of today's yachtsmen and professionals. From 4G and 5G routers to WiFi gateways, NMEA 2000 systems and interfaces for tablets and smartphones, the range meets the growing demand for permanent on-board connectivity, whether for safety, weather, communication or comfort at anchor.

One of its flagship products, the Afloat 4G Connect Internet system, provides crews with stable, affordable Internet access for coastal sailing. The brand is banking on the rapid evolution of mobile networks and the reliability of its integrations to appeal to cruising sailboat owners and motorboat users alike.

Le Havre, a base for European expansion

For Nicolas Guerin, Digital Yacht's European Manager, the move to Le Havre is part of an expansion strategy. " Normandy has a major logistical advantage and a unique international opening thanks to its port and maritime connections" he explains. In this way, the company aims to strengthen its links with European boatyards, distributors and equipment manufacturers, while remaining true to its DNA as an innovative company rooted in the nautical industry.

Digital Yacht regularly exhibits its new products at major international shows, such as the Cannes Yachting Festival and METSTRADE in Amsterdam. The head office in Le Havre will facilitate this presence and act as a technical and commercial relay for continental Europe.

A growing team

The European subsidiary starts out with a team of 5 people, and is rapidly aiming for around 15 jobs. Its offices in Le Havre will centralize sales, marketing and technical support activities. For Digital Yacht, this is a strategic step that confirms Le Havre's growing role as a stronghold for maritime and technological companies.
