ROM Arranged: "Montpellier is strategic for travel boats"

With La Grande-Motte or Canet nearby, Montpellier is strategic for ROM Arrangé

Computer and communications specialist ROM Arrangé has opened a new office in the Mediterranean. CEO Benoît Marsille explains the reasons for and objectives of this 2nd site, which complements the company's head office in Lorient.

ROM Arrangé settles in Montpellier

Specialized since 2004 in marine computing and satellite communication for boats, the Breton company ROM Arrangé has set up a site in the Mediterranean. An agency has opened its doors near Montpellier airport, in Mauguio, under the leadership of Ronan Quin-Huard. Launched progressively since the fall of 2022, it will reach cruising speed in 2023. Benoît Marsille, the company's director, explains: "I had this idea of setting up in the Mediterranean for some time now. It took time to find the person, the place, to stock the store. We started talking about it a little bit to customers at the Nautic."

Transpose the ROM know-how to the Mediterranean

For the company born in Lorient, it is not a question of changing its working method or its target customers, but rather of bringing its experience to Mediterranean boaters, as the manager of ROM Arrangé emphasizes: "We're not going to start doing motoryacht racing. Our technical know-how and our target are the same, the yachtsman who is preparing for a big trip and ocean racing, from IRC to Ultim. People who need computers and communication on board for routing and weather."

The local ecosystem and the large multihull shipyards, often candidates for ocean cruising, are obviously a positive point for the Mauguio site. Benoît Marsille explains: "We knew we'd be welcomed in this part of the Mediterranean, and the whole area from the Spanish border to Marseille is within easy driving distance to work on the boats. A lot of the big shipyards launch their boats here for the big trip."

An experienced manager

Last trigger for ROM Arrangé, the recruitment of an experienced and reliable manager for the site. Ronan Quin-Huard, formerly of Adrena software and familiar with ROM Arrangé, brings his knowledge of technique and navigation. He should be quickly supported by a technician on site.
