Electric thruster exhibited at METS Amsterdam

Amsterdam is getting ready for the electric boat. It will host the Electric and Hybrid Marine World Expo from June 25 to 27, 2019. Programme and practical information

A show dedicated to the electric boat that is growing in size

The Electric and Hybrid Marine World Expo was held in 2014. Since then, the show has continued to grow in parallel with the sector of electric boats and hybrid propulsion in the maritime world. The 2018 edition brought together more than 4500 visitors and 130 exhibitors. The event brings together professionals from all the specialties required for electric propulsion, from energy storage to engines and electrical networks.

Boating and professional boats

Electric propulsion, and especially hybrid systems combining a combustion engine and an electric motor, can be found on board all boats. Technology transfers exist in both directions, between professional and recreational vessels. The exhibition is a place of exchange, around the suppliers, to make the two environments communicate.

The whole ecosystem of electric propulsion

From exhibitors to speakers at technical conferences, all players in the electrical industry are represented. Suppliers of batteries, fuel cells, parallel electric motors, outboards, pods will be present. Conferences will deal with new battery technologies, charging systems, regulations or the role of ports in fleet electrification.

Electric and Hybrid Marine Award

The Electric and Hybrid Marine Award honours electric boat specialists in the following categories:

  • Supplier of the Year
  • Engineering Team of the Year
  • Innovation of the Year
  • Propulsion System Manufacturer of the Year
  • Electric and Hybrid Drive System of the Year
