Hallberg-Rassy has renewed its agreement with Raymarine for three years. The electronics manufacturer will remain the Swedish shipyard?s standard supplier for navigation, radar, autopilot, and communications. Maretron will complement this system for onboard equipment management.

Raymarine Reappointed as Standard Equipment Supplier

Hallberg-Rassy and Teledyne Raymarine have renewed their agreement for the supply of marine electronics for three years. Raymarine will remain the standard equipment supplier for all new models from the Swedish shipyard. The contract covers navigation functions, radar, autopilot, communications, and onboard equipment monitoring, among other features. Owners will thus have access to the brand?s Axiom chartplotters, Lighthouse operating system, Evolution autopilots, Quantum radars, and AIS equipment.

More Integrated Navigation and Onboard Management

Future Hallberg-Rassy sailboats will also incorporate Maretron digital switching solutions. The stated goal is to connect various boat functions?including lighting, pumps, and certain monitoring equipment?to the multifunction displays. The shipyard thus aims to establish a common architecture that integrates navigation and onboard management?a growing priority as electrical and electronic systems become increasingly prevalent on large cruising sailboats.

A common electronic platform across the product line

For Hallberg-Rassy, which specializes in sailboats designed for offshore cruising, the choice of a standardized electronic platform must above all ensure consistent integration across different models. It also makes it easier for owners and crews to use and monitor the systems. Magnus Rassy, the shipyard?s CEO, describes the combination of Raymarine equipment and Maretron digital switching as the electronic foundation chosen for the manufacturer?s upcoming models.
