Yanmar Marine International announces a warranty extension for its engines designed for pleasure motorboats. The new program extends coverage to five years. It covers several of the brand's common rail series.

Yanmar Marine International (YMI) announces a new extended warranty program for its engines. This coverage, now structured around a "2 + 3 year" formula, brings the total warranty to five years.

The aim is to bring the warranty for powerboat engines into line with that already offered for sailboat engines, while reinforcing user confidence in the reliability of the Japanese manufacturer's engines.

Extended coverage for common-rail engines

The extended warranty applies to Yanmar common rail 4LV, 8LV and 6LY series engines installed on privately-owned pleasure boats.

With this upgrade, coverage is now three years longer than in the previous version. This brings the total warranty period to five years.

According to Yanmar Marine International, this decision reflects the manufacturer's confidence in the design and durability of its engines.

Extended warranty also for spare parts

The program also includes an upgrade of spare parts coverage.

Parts installed by an authorized Yanmar dealer are now guaranteed for 24 months. Parts sold directly over the counter are covered by a 12-month limited warranty.

This measure is designed to improve the consistency of after-sales service and encourage the use of the official network for servicing and maintenance.

A specific offer for professional use

Yanmar also offers a warranty program tailored to professional applications, particularly for boats used in charter or commercial activities.

In this case, the warranty is based on a "2 + 1 year" formula. It covers YM, JH, 4LV, 8LV and 6LY series common rail engines.

This system takes into account the more intensive operating constraints specific to these activities.

A worldwide network of over 2,000 dealers

For Yanmar, the warranty extension is part of a wider strategy to strengthen its global service network. The manufacturer now has over 2,000 dealers in some 130 countries.

Based in the Netherlands, Yanmar Marine International is part of the Yanmar Group's pleasure boat division. This division brings together several marine brands, including Vetus, Maxwell, Flexofold and Smartgyro. Founded in Osaka in 1912, the Japanese group is today active in many industrial fields, including marine engines, agriculture, construction and energy systems.
