Tensioning shrouds and stays is no longer a matter of guesswork, especially on ocean cruisers and large yachts. With the Rig Sense Pro, Spinlock offers a reinforced, connected version of its Rig Sense system, designed for rigging professionals.
A tool for heavy loads
The Rig Sense Pro covers a wide range, suitable for cruisers and larger yachts. It measures :
- Stainless steel cables from Ø 5 to 20 mm
- Rod from Ø 5 to 16 mm
- Maximum load up to 8,000 daN, i.e. approx. 8 tonnes
The device weighs around 2.5 kg and is positioned on the cable using stainless steel deflector rollers to limit deflection. This design ensures accurate measurement while reducing errors due to cable deflection.

Once installed, the device locks onto the shroud, leaving both hands free to adjust the turnbuckles.
Digital measurement and easy-to-read display
The Rig Sense Pro displays the measured voltage directly on a high-contrast digital screen. A load alarm can be set to signal when a predefined threshold is reached.

The aim is to obtain a reproducible, comparable value over time. When commissioning a new mast or replacing standing rigging, loads can be set according to a precise protocol, then recorded.
Registration and traceability via application
One of the major evolutions concerns connectivity. Data can be transferred to the Rig Sense app, available on iOS and Android. Measured values can be recorded, archived and integrated into reports.

For riggers, OEMs and mast manufacturers, this function makes it possible to document the installation, provide certifiable readings and build up a reference history for periodic maintenance. In a context where insurance companies and owners are demanding proof, this traceability becomes a technical argument.
A clearly professional market
Unlike the Rig Sense model, designed for dinghies and keelboats up to around 30 feet, the Pro version is aimed at larger yachts and the shipyard market.
Spinlock points out that the development of Rig Sense Pro was in response to a request expressed in particular by Selden Mast, faced with the need to demonstrate that rigs are installed at defined loads.
Distributed by Interdist, the advertised retail price is around 6,200 euros incl. VAT, which positions the machine as a workshop investment rather than a boater's tool.
