Smartgyro has taken another step forward by making its gyro stabilization systems directly accessible from Raymarine Axiom displays, via the LightHouse system. This integration enhances the legibility and coherence of the cockpit.
Gyro directly visible on the MFD
Thanks to this integration, users equipped with a Smartgyro stabilizer can now view key system information from their compatible Raymarine Axiom display. Gyro tracking is displayed on the MFD in the same way as cartography, radar and engine data.
In concrete terms, the Smartgyro interface opens like an integrated application, without the need for an additional dedicated screen. The plotter's on-board browser loads the interface, enabling immediate consultation from the helm.
Integration based on a lightweight web application
From a technical point of view, Smartgyro has opted for an HTML5 application that complies with current standards. The interface is optimized for the Axiom's on-board browser, without the addition of specific drivers or in-depth modification of the LightHouse operating system.
Communication with the stabilizer continues to rely on the proprietary protocols already used by Smartgyro. This architecture limits installation complexity and facilitates future upgrades, as the interface can be updated without redesigning the hardware.
Real-time playback and essential information
From the Raymarine display, the user has access to real-time stabilizer operating data. System status, gyro activity, visual performance indicators and health information are clearly and concisely displayed.
The interface also provides access to alerts, service messages and diagnostic data. The aim is to enable rapid information gathering, without having to switch to an external box or separate application.
A more coherent, less cluttered bar
This integration responds to a strong demand from yachtsmen and professionals alike. Centralizing information on a single screen reduces visual dispersion at the helm, particularly when sailing inshore or maneuvering in port.
Stabilization thus becomes a visible and comprehensible parameter on the same level as navigation or propulsion, and no longer an isolated system operating in the background.
