Mirka POLAROS RP 600: a polisher designed for shipyards

A 750-watt motor, a featherweight and electronic functions designed to prevent clumsiness. Mirka's new POLAROS RP 600 polisher sets new standards in rotary polishing, even in the marine sector.

The finishing of a gelcoat or a nautical varnish doesn't stand up to rough treatment. With this in mind, Mirka unveils a machine that could well be of interest to repair shops and specialized construction sites: the POLAROS RP 600, a light, silent, fingertip-controllable rotary wire polisher.

A machine designed for long-term use

At 1.75 kilos on the scales, the Mirka POLAROS RP 600 is distinguished above all by its compact size. Gone are the days of bulky polishers: here, the grip is more like that of a sander. This format allows you to work with greater precision, particularly on vertical areas or on complex parts with variable geometry, such as listons, portholes or deck hatches.

Electronic assistance to limit damage

Two functions are particularly noteworthy: "Ramp Up" and "Ramp Down". The first prevents dough from splashing on start-up, a not insignificant detail on a finishing station. The second automatically reduces speed if pressure is too great. The aim is to protect both the surface and the operator, while minimizing errors. The logic is simple: give the operator more control, without sacrificing efficiency.

A lot of torque, but not a lot of noise

Equipped with a 750-watt brushless motor, the machine delivers between 700 and 2,500 rpm. Despite this power, the noise level remains below 60 decibels, a definite plus in an already noisy workshop. The 150 mm table accommodates a soft pad, suitable for working on gelcoat, marine varnish or fragile lacquers.
