Garmin: +10% growth for the marine segment in Q2 2025

Buoyed by the success of its on-board equipment and connected watches, Garmin recorded solid growth of 10% in its marine segment in the second quarter of 2025. A remarkable performance in a still uncertain market context.

Green indicators for the boating sector

Onboard electronics specialist Garmin has reported solid quarterly results, with overall growth of 12% across all segments, and total sales of $1.38 billion for the period April to June 2025. The marine segment, which is strategic for the Group, recorded a 10% increase in sales compared with the second quarter of 2024.

This dynamic performance is due to strong demand for chartplotters, multifunction navigation systems and connected nautical watches, notably the Quatix 8 range, which has been heralded as one of the season's best sellers.

Confirmed profitability

The marine division also posted a solid gross margin of 55%, with an operating margin of 21%, representing an operating profit of $63 million. This level of profitability places the marine division among the Group's best performers in terms of revenue/profit ratio, just behind the aviation and outdoor segments.

A strategy of continuous innovation

Garmin continues to invest heavily in the development of new integrated electronic platforms, combining GPS, radar, sonar and connectivity. The group is focusing on equipment interoperability, software ergonomics and the on-board ecosystem, in conjunction with Garmin Connect and ActiveCaptain mobile applications. Emphasis is also placed on onboard automation and coastal navigation safety.

Growth driven by the high-end segment

The commercial success of the new Quatix 8, featuring advanced functions such as autopilot control, synchronized NMEA 2000 data and intelligent notifications, illustrates Garmin's premium positioning in the leisure segment. The Group attracts a clientele of technophile boaters, often owners of speedboats, houseboats or semi-custom yachts, for whom on-board electronics have become central to the on-board experience.

Objective 2025: consolidate market share in the marine sector

On the strength of these good results, Garmin has revised its annual forecasts upwards and is counting on the marine segment to continue generating growth. The manufacturer intends to strengthen its positions in the North American and European markets, while developing new interfaces for electric motors and hybrid solutions, with a view to compatibility and energy optimization.
