Since the beginning of 2023, Wessex Resins, a European manufacturer, has given the exclusive distribution of West System solutions to Directeck for all of France. Based near Clermont-Ferrand, this distributor offers the entire catalog to its customers, whether they are individuals with small packages or professionals with adapted solutions.
For over 50 years
West System is the epoxy resin specialist since 1969. The Gougeon brothers, who live in Michigan, USA, were ice-cart builders. They were looking for a resin that could withstand the cold to build their plywood machines. Neighbors and friends of Dow Chemical Laboratory, they were able to access research and develop resins and hardeners that could be used as adhesives and coatings. Gougeon Brother and West System products were created.
A complete range
West System is not just an epoxy resin. It is a set of products that can be used for construction as well as for repair or reinforcement. The research has always been guided by simplicity of use. Indeed, the dosage of the products, very important for epoxy, is always done with dosing pumps that avoid any bad manipulations.
For all applications, the base is a 105 resin. It is a clear, light yellow, low viscosity (very liquid) epoxy resin formulated to impregnate wood fibers, glass fibers and a variety of materials.
Then you choose your hardener according to the mode of application: fast, slow, extra slow or for special coatings. And finally, we complete with filler according to what we want to do: coating, filling, gluing.
Solutions for professionals
For construction sites, capacities range from 1 kg to 1 ton! Electric pump solutions also offer automatic mixing. The advantage of the West System is that it can always mix only the required quantity of product. This avoids losses or precipitations so as not to spoil.
West System resin is particularly liquid, making it easy to impregnate into the wood. It has virtually no shrinkage during drying and also offers a white coated finish that does not require painting afterwards. Renters appreciate being able to repair at night and re-rent in the morning...
Products to make the applicator's life easier
This range is completed by peripheral products such as the mixing sticks which are provided with a tip to make cone joints. Also noteworthy is the G-Flex 655 glue which glues practically everything, even rotomolded hulls (kayaks, school catamarans, etc.). Or the Six10, a cartridge with a standard format (manual gun) but two components filled with silica for structural gluing even in hard-to-reach places, because it does not leak. Also noteworthy are the protective products for West System users, such as protective and washing creams for the applicators' hands.
