Marsail, when top-level sailing boosts performance tenfold

An atypical company in the world of ocean racing, Marsail is managed by Christopher Pratt, ocean racing skipper, and Amandine Deslandes, a graduate of HEC. This duo offers management by sailing through seminars, conferences and training courses

The analogy between ocean racing and business

Founded in 2008, Marsail offers to companies or structures managerial training related to the world of sailing. The idea is to highlight the similarities between a skipper and an entrepreneur, namely the ability to manage and adapt one's choices according to an environment and a situation.

" Like running a business, sailing is a multifactorial sport that requires a lot of anticipation. In ocean racing, you have to "go fast to the right place". If I go fast, but I don't go in the right direction, the result is not good "says Christopher.

Beyond a simple sailing team building, Marsail offers training courses adapted to each company, on very targeted themes: management, crisis management, decision making..

A unique concept

Marsail uses sailing as a real educational tool and a performance lever for companies. Implementation takes the form of conferences or sea trips. And you can count on Christopher to take the project forward: " the goal is to get out of his comfort zone. The further you move away from it, the faster and more sustainable the learning is. In addition, our training courses help develop confidence - in oneself and in others - which we believe is the main lever for performance. "

With her 15 years of experience in management and organisation methods, Amandine Deslandes, associate director, brings her knowledge and an approach allowing a concrete response to the expectations of the participants.

Marsail has acquired the Qualiopi certification, which is a guarantee of the seriousness of the training provided. Moreover, this certification allows the different training funds to take charge of the services.

A permanent contact with ocean racing

Despite his responsibilities within Marsail, Christopher remains very involved in the world of ocean racing, particularly within the Charal team. He was co-skipper of Jeremy Beyou during the last Jaques Vabre, and substitute skipper of the IMOCA Charal for the last Vendée Globe. Chris and Amandine also offer their services for sailing sports coaching, for a group of sailors or a personalised project.

Whether it's offshore racing or in-shore regattas Marsail brings its experience on a wide variety of topics: technical preparation of the boat, sleep management, weather - routing, roadbook and race management, nutrition and physical preparation...
