Karine Fauconnier takes over as head of Lorient Grand Large

Appointments, departures, job changes... There has been movement at Lorient Grand Large, CMN, Southern Spars, Baltic Yachts, UCINA.

Karine Fauconnier joins Lorient Grand Large

Navigator Karine Fauconnier is in charge of Lorient Grand Large, the public structure in charge of promoting and organising professional sailing in Lorient. A well-known female skipper, she succeeds former director Christophe Baudry who left last January, with the new title of coordinator.

Pierre Balmer leaves CMN

At the head of the CMN site, Construction Mécaniques de Normandie, since 2001, Pierre Balmer has been leaving his management position. He will hold other positions in the holding company that owns the shipyard, which today is more specialized in the military navy, but has been active in the yacht world for many years.

Promotion at Southern Spars

The Frenchman Vincent Guiot takes over the group sales department of the rigging manufacturer Southern Spars. He joined the company in January 2019, after 7 years with the Bavaria group, and took over responsibility for European sales.

New CEO at Baltic Yachts

The top-of-the-range yacht manufacturer Baltic Yachts will change direction in September 2019. Its new CEO, Anders Kurten, who is also President of the Finnish Federation of Boating Industries, previously worked for the Buster and Yamarin pleasure craft brands. The outgoing CEO, Henry Hawkins, will remain Executive Vice President in charge of Marketing and Sales.

The Italian boating industry has a new representative

Saverio Cecchi, from the Tuscan shipyard Tuscan GP Yachts, was elected head of the Italian professional yachting union UCINA, with 99% of the votes. He succeeds Carla Demaria, who has reached the end of her term of office, former manager of the Italian subsidiary of the Bénéteau Monte Carlo Yachts group.
