With the 4.3 MY, Bali is launching into the motor catamaran market

Bali 4.3 MY

3 years ago, the Bali Catamarans shipyard was interested in motor catamarans by developing a prototype. In 2019, Bali 4.3 MY will be launched next April. This first powercat will use the codes from the Bali range and even more space on board with the addition of a flybridge.

A new player on the motor catamaran market

In recent years, the motor catamaran market has been dynamic. While Aventura Catamarans has entered the powercat segment of less than 10 m with the Aventura 10 (a new model will be announced in April 2019), Lagoon or Sunreef offer units over 60 feet. But the heart of the market - 40-foot catas - is occupied by Fountaine Pajot with the MY 44 and MY 40 launched in January 2019 or Leopard Catamarans with the 43 PC.

It will now be necessary to count with a new actor since the Bali Catamarans shipyard will launch in April 2019 the 4.3 MY, a motor catamaran with a total length of 12.95 m. A choice explained by Mathilde Grauet, Marketing Manager of the Catana shipyard (Bali Catamarans' parent company).

"When competitors launch a Motor Yacht, it's a success. There is an expectation on the part of boaters. We took longer than our competitors to get into the engine, but we wanted to establish the brand, so that people would understand what Bali was all about. In the Catana shipyard, we have two brands: Catana and Bali. Over the past year and a half, people have gained a better understanding of the distinction between these two brands. We do things in an organized way and we thought it was time to launch a motor catamaran."

A "real" Bali Catamarans

To develop this model, the yard started from a prototype developed 3 years ago, but revisited everything.

"Three years ago, we released a prototype to determine what we wanted for our future powered Bali. This test project allowed us to see the errors and improvements and to arrive at a completely successful project" explains Mathilde Grauet, Marketing Manager of the Catana shipyard (Bali Catamarans' parent company).

The 4.3 MY uses the codes from the Bali range, namely:

  • The tilting and tilting door
  • The platform without trampoline at the front which serves as a spacious lounge area
  • The decompartmentalization (the windows can be lowered, sliding for natural ventilation)
  • Apart from air circulation, the circulation of people on board.

There will be innovations to come, but the shipyard wishes to let the suspense soar until the boat is presented at the Multihull Show in La Grande Motte (24 to 28 April 2019).

"The 4.3 MY will be much more spacious than the Bali 4.3 sailing, already because the boat is higher. We create a new living space with the addition of a very spacious flybridge. On the yachts, there was a lounge area to sit and be with the skipper. Here it's a real extra space." mathilde explains.

Lots of space on board

Outside, the 4.3 MY has many living spaces: a stern lounge bordered by a large terrace with plancha, a large protected flybridge with a double lateral access equipped with a large saloon at the rear and a cockpit at the front or a huge sunbathing area for 5 people on the front deck.

Inside, the layout is a little different from the latest models on display, with a fully equipped L-shaped kitchen at the front and a living/dining room for 12 guests at the back.

Under the bridge, the layout is modular with versions from 2 very large cabins to 4 cabins with bathroom.
