Sunseeker and Rolls-Royce Partner for Hybrid Yacht

The British luxury motor yacht manufacturer Sunseeker has signed a partnership with its compatriot the engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce. The shipyard will develop with the engine manufacturer MTU, a division of the Rolls-Royce Group, the first production boat equipped with the MTU Hybrid Power propulsion system. The first unit, of unknown size, with 2 12-cylinder inboard diesel engines, electric thrusters and a battery bank, will be delivered in 2020.

Sellor continues to invest in ocean racing

Lorient Agglomération and La Sellor, manager of the ports of the Lorient harbour, have announced new investments for the reception of ocean racing yachts. In 2019, the Lorient La Base site will see the creation of 160 linear metres of additional pontoons and the development of a new 4,000 m² median area. The total budget is around 4 Meuros.

Call for tenders in Hourtin

The marina in the commune of Hourtin, in the Gironde, has launched a call for tenders for the extension of its capacity. It concerns the addition of 15 boat places and 45 metres of pontoons. Bids are expected to be submitted by 15 February 2019.

Sirena opens a new site in Istanbul

The Turkish group Sirena Marine, which groups together the Sirena Yachts motor boats and the Euphoria and Azure sailboats, continues to grow. In order to meet demand and to be able to offer larger units, the company has announced the forthcoming opening of a second shipyard in Istanbul, two hours from its historic site.

Besenzoni partners with FB design for its helm seats

Besenzoni, the Italian specialist in hydraulic equipment for boats and helm seats, has announced the signing of a partnership with FB Design, a motor boat design and construction company renowned for its military and fast offshore units, founded in 1971 by Fabio Buzzi. The two partners will collaborate on the development of high-performance foundations for fast recreational boats.
