Nantes announces a boating centre in Chantenay

As part of the redevelopment of the Bas-Chantenay district, a historic shipbuilding site, the city of Nantes has announced the future creation of an industrial hub dedicated to boating and marine energies. The project is expected to be completed within 10 years.

JFA boosted by Concarneau's new infrastructures

The luxury yacht and sailboat builder JFA is delighted in a press release about the new tools in the port of Concarneau. The new 400T Travel lift, the two 200T self-propelled trolleys and the 2000T synchrolift will enable the shipyard to continue its development in the yacht refit sector.

PACA, 1st French Sailing League

The Ligue de Voile de Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur became the 1st league in number of licensees in 2017, ahead of Brittany and New Aquitaine. With the prospect of hosting the sailing events of the 2024 Olympic Games in Marseilles, it has set itself the objective of increasing the number of regional sailing licensees by 20% by that date.

New pontoons in Cherbourg

The Cherbourg marina installed new pontoons in its outer harbour, replacing equipment that had suffered several disasters. Representing an investment of 500,000 euros, they will enable the multihulls of the Dhream Cup to be hosted in the best possible conditions in July 2018 and will increase the capacity of 10 boats.

Torqeedo partners with WhisperPower for hybrid powertrains

Electric engine manufacturer Torqeedo has teamed up with generator specialist WhisperPower to launch a 25kW variable speed diesel generator. Specially designed for Torqeedo Deep Blue marine engines and their BMW batteries, it increases their autonomy and allows the proposal of a complete electric propulsion motorcycle solution.
