Vidal Diffusion Marine celebrates 30 years of marine equipment distribution to yachting professionals. An opportunity to look back at the company's history.

From auto parts to boating

Vidal Diffusion Marine was born in 1987 from the marine division of an automotive parts distributor and the desire to transpose know-how into boating. The company offers marine mechanics workshops in the Var and the region a fast delivery service for mechanical parts and quickly finds its place on the territory.

A national dimension

In 1994, Vidal Diffusion Marine changed hands and took on a national dimension with the acquisition of Same, Société d'Accessoires Marins et d'Equipements. VDM can thus offer new product ranges, including the Super Marine anodes it manufactures in France. The company is also enriched by a sales force whose presence in the field is the basis of its current organization.

Development in safety equipment

In 2006, CLOP, Comptoir des Lièges Ouvrés de Provence, joined the structure, which thus opened up to safety equipment. The 4Water brand and its life jackets become one of the pillars of VDM products.

A growing group

Since 2015, after several moves to La Garde to ensure its development, Vidal Diffusion Marine has moved into a new building equipped with new logistics tools. The Toulon division includes the Vidal Diffusion Marine, 4Water and Super Marine brands, but also Reya and Euromarine which, like VDM, are part of the Alliance Marine group. This shared equipment enables them to offer high-end logistics services to professional customers.

In 30 years, VDM has grown from a specialist in engine spare parts to a supplier for all yachting professionals, whether they are shipchandlers, specialised installers, mechanics or construction or renovation sites.

Commercial operations

To blow out its 30 candles, VDM launches various commercial operations, notably on social networks to highlight its product range and federate its resellers.
