The Eurolarge Innovation cluster supports ocean racing companies. Between technical conferences, administrative support and commercial assistance, the model brings members an advantage that can be found in racing, as in the Vendée Globe.

A Breton association, but open to all

The Eurolarge Innovation association was created in 2005 in Lorient. In the wake of the development of the Morbihan port Submarine Base at the end of the 1990s, the Brittany and Lorient Agglomération regions wanted to help the offshore racing and competition sailing sector. Funded by local institutions, the cluster brings together business leaders in the sector from all over France. About sixty structures, mainly Breton, active from the birth of the boat to the activities of promotion, while passing by the construction, adhere to the association.

For the Brittany region, which accounts for 90% of national activity, ocean racing represents a real economic challenge. More than a hundred companies are active there.

Technical Support

Eurolarge's flagship and popular activity, technical conferences generally bring together around a hundred people. Three appointments have already been scheduled, in January, April and November, concerning

  • the energy management strategy in the race
  • foils (balance sheets and evolutions)
  • additive construction techniques.

Administrative and commercial assistance

Eurolarge Innovation also assists its members in setting up financing files, bringing credibility to projects through its reputation.

The commercial aspect is also dealt with by Eurolarge Innovation. The presence at international trade shows offers visibility to companies.

In partnership with Bretagne Développement Innovation, the cluster is also interested in diversifying its members. A presence on the JEC Composites will thus be proposed to reach new markets.

New projects and new financing
