Richard Hadida takes over Oyster Yachts

In a message on its website, the British sailing shipyard Oyster Yachts confirmed rumours about the appointment of a buyer, after its recovery. The file of Richard Hadida Yachting Ltd, a company created by Richard Hadida, was retained by the directors of KPMG.

From online games to shipbuilding

The new owner of Oyster Yachts is a British online gaming entrepreneur. He is one of the founders and CEO of Evolution Gaming Group, which provides software solutions for online gambling and casino. Without any industrial experience in boating, he is nevertheless a seasoned yachtsman,"fallen in love with Oyster Yachts after having sailed on one of the brand's yachts for a few years

New boats and new management team

According to comments relayed by our IBI colleagues, Richard Hadida should part from the current management of Oyster Yachts and be assisted by Kim Stubbs who participated in the recovery of the Sunseeker shipyard and Paul Adamson, former captain of the Oyster 875 Lush. The project also plans to take over as many employees as possible, although many of them have already found jobs in nearby yards such as Discovery Yachts. The resumption of work on the 26 boats under construction is the first challenge of the new team.

In order to attract new customers to Oyster Yachts, Richard Hadida wishes to develop new models of smaller yachts in the dynamic 40-foot segment.
