Bavaria Yachts, the German boat builder still in trouble
Marcus Schlichting left the Bavaria Group in January 2018. He was in charge of marketing and press relations for the German leader in yachting. François Renault, Bavaria's sales manager for France, temporarily replaces him within the group. Marcus Schlichting has joined the German press group SVG Service Verlag GmbH, which specialises in yachting.
New director for Espace Vag
James Simon took over the management of the Espace Vag site on 10 January 2018. He succeeds Pierrick de Kervenoael, from whom he acquired the builder of the Ikone sailboats. The new owner explained his plans to BoatIndustry.
Appointment to the ISO Large Yachts Committee
Allan Leng, President of the Heysea Yacht Group, has been appointed Vice-Chairman of ISO Subcommittee 12 on large yachts. The first Chinese member of the committee, the superyacht builder will help develop standards for large yachts within the commission created in 2016.
Ferretti Yachts
Giovanni Bogetto has been appointed head of media relations for the Italian yacht manufacturer Ferretti. He had previously held the same position at the competing Azimut Benetti shipyard.
Matthieu Souben joins the All Purpose sailmaker
Navigator Matthieu Souben joins the Morbihan sailmaker All Purpose. After 10 years as a designer and representative at Quantum Sails and numerous titles in multihull racing, the young man wanted to "get closer to a French production centre and make progress
Quinten Houry joins North Sails
The sailboat Quinten Houry, formerly Doyle Sails' representative in Palma de Mallorca, joins North Sails. Its sailmaking floor, specialising in superyachts, in the Spanish islands became the property of the North Sails group.
