Compositeworks opens an office in Antibes

Compositeworks, a yacht refit specialist, opens a commercial office in Antibes. The company explains this choice by the need for a presence as close as possible to its customers, whose large pleasure craft are based on the Côte d'Azur. It will be able to welcome crews and shipowners to discuss their projects. The opening of the office follows the acquisition by Compositeworks in September 2016 of the Atlantic Refit Center in La Rochelle, which reinforces the historic site of La Ciotat.

Patents: Garmin takes revenge on Navico

The U.S. Federal Court of Appeals finally ruled in Garmin's dispute with Navico over three patents related to sonar technology. The court found that two of the patents were invalid and that the Down-Vü sonars did not infringe the third. As a result, Garmin will escape the $37 million fine to which the company had been sentenced and can resume importing its Down Vü sonars into the United States, prohibited at the end of 2015.

La Salle des Moteurs, a specialist in the sale, repair and reconditioning of marine engines, has announced the creation of a new entity, Solé Diesel France. As of 1 September 2017, the latter will take over the distribution of Solé Diesel engines and generators throughout France. The network of around twenty agents should evolve and expand in line with the philosophy of the new Solé Diesel distributor. The brand will benefit from the store and workshop of the Salle des Moteurs, located in Cannes La Bocca.
