Miami, American nautical capital

From February 16 to 20, Miami is the American boating capital. The city of Florida simultaneously hosts the Miami International Boat Show and the Miami Beach Yachts. All the American, European and world manufacturers are present.

Miami International Boat Show

1,300 boats are exhibited at the Miami International Boat Show, as well as numerous equipment for a total of 3 billion dollars. The specific sailing area, Strictly Sail, has 130 yachts. The total surface of the show is more than 9 hectares. The space afloat includes 565 boats, including units up to 10 feet.

Thom Dammrich, president of the NMMA, owner of the event, welcomes the prospects for the show. "I'm very excited about the improvements we've made and look forward to Miami, where we can showcase the global boating industry, and where probably over $300 million worth of products will be sold in 5 days

Yachts Miami Beach

Miami Beach Yachts covers more than 11 hectares. It attracts a worldwide clientele for pleasure boats and superyachts. Over $1 billion in new and used yachts will be on sale. The exhibition was completely re-organized by its owner in 2017. It will be paying for the first time in its history.

Competitive but complementary exhibitions

Each of the lounges is owned by different owners.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) is both the owner and organizer of the Miami International Boat Show.

Miami Beach Yachts is owned by Show Management and the International Yacht Brokers Association. Show Management is also the organiser of 3 other boat shows in the United States, including the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, a reference in the superyacht world.

Although many exhibitors are present at both shows, sometimes with the same boats, it seems that the two events are complementary. Existing for many years, the two shows cohabit, Show Management, organizer of the Miami Beach Yachts being even member of the NMMA, owner of its competitor... A peaceful relationship that could inspire European industry.
