The election of the new president of World Sailing will take place on November 13, 2016. Carlo Croce defends his record and wants to continue the work done at the head of the international sailing federation.

General Assembly

The election of the President of World Sailing will take place during the General Assembly of the Federation, in Barcelona, between 4 and 13 November 2016. It brings together the 700 delegates of the member national institutions every 4 years. Carlo Croce, outgoing president, will try to be re-elected against the Danish Kim Andersen and the Canadian Paul Henderson.

Continuing the work accomplished

Not surprisingly, the Italian Carlo Croce proposes in his profession of faith to continue the work accomplished over the last 4 years. According to him, work on the new governance is under way and he wishes to make World Sailing a reference for the management of international federations. The federation must be a force of proposal for the 2020 Olympic Games for Carlo Croce who insists on his will to do everything so that sailing will be back at the 2024 Paralympic Games.

The outgoing president also wishes to develop the share of offshore racing in the activities of World Sailing. He defends the role of sailing in the ecological transition to a more sustainable world.
