1st very political conference for the Confederation of Boating and Pleasure Boating

1st Annual Conference of the Confederation of Boating and Yachting

For its first edition, the annual conference organised by the CNP brought together professionals and politicians. An opportunity to remind elected officials of the economic importance of the sector.

A successful first

300 people, elected officials, professionals and members of sports federations met on 12 October 2016 at the Maison de la Chimie in Paris, at the call of the Confédération du Nautisme et de la Plaisance (CNP). First edition of the annual conference of the CNP, the meeting succeeded in mobilizing members around development themes related to boating

A very political edition

Many of the guests at the conference were elected representatives of the Republic. François Goulard, president of the General Council of Morbihan and Didier Codorniou, vice president of the Occitanie region in charge of the maritime economy, testified to the importance of water sports and pleasure boating for the development of their territories.

Arnaud Leroy, MP and Didier Mandelli, Senator, rapporteurs of the law for the blue economy, debated the regulatory aspect and the necessary lightening of the laws. The simplification of legislation, begun with the law for the blue economy, must continue to remove the obstacles to the growth of the nautical sector.

Mobilization of all

While all those present welcomed the commitment of local elected officials, they called for government involvement in an inter-ministerial framework. The establishment of a reliable and recognised quantification of the direct and indirect social and economic impact of boating and pleasure boating will make it possible to reach the necessary consensus.

All stakeholders were also called upon to contribute to the Nauticlab collaborative proposal platform, already presented in these columns.
