A Quality Director for Bénéteau Group

Michel Bussière, Bénéteau Group

Michel Bussière is the Bénéteau Group's new Director of Yachting Quality. A newly created position with important stakes.

New transverse post

As indicated at its back-to-school press conference, the Bénéteau Group has created a position of Yachting Quality Director at group level. Whereas until now it was managed independently within the various brands, quality will now be overseen and standardized by the group.

The new director, Michel Bussière, has the task of designing this new quality system for the group in its boat activity and then ensuring its management. Three major themes have been set by management: the quality of developments, the quality of suppliers and the quality of production.

Certification

Michel Bussière will also be responsible for product certifications. The stakes are particularly high this year with the final implementation of the new European directive on recreational craft 2013/53/EU on 1 January 2017.

A solid background in quality

Before joining the Bénéteau Group, Michel Bussière had been Quality and Transverse Coordination Director at Herakles, a Safran Group company in Bordeaux, for four years, where he implemented the quality and continuous improvement policy.

An employee of Snecma Propulsion Solide for 23 years, he was QSE Director, Progress and Testing in the field of thermostructural composites.

Composite expertise

A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Aéronautique (ENSMA), Michel Bussière has solid expertise in composite materials, acquired in his aeronautical functions.

This technical know-how is completed by a Higher Certificate of Specialization in Economic Management (EM Lyon) and the validation of the Cycle d'Etude Supérieures Défense & Aérospatial (CESDA - Sciences PO Bordeaux).
