METS, 2 new members for the steering committee

Andreas Tegeler and Peter Tierney

METS has announced the appointment of Andreas Tegeler from Yachticon and Peter Tierney from Lewmar as members of its steering committee.

An advisory committee

The METS Steering Committee is an advisory body composed of managers of exhibiting and visiting companies. Its mission is to relay the voice of industry and to participate in defining the strategy, marketing and development of the show. The Presidency is held jointly by the Director of RAI Amsterdam and the Director of METS. A permanent seat is also allocated to the Secretary General of ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations). The six other members, representatives of industry, are renewed every seven years, on the proposal of the committee itself.

The internet challenge for Andreas Tegeler

Andreas Tegeler joins the METS steering committee on behalf of the German company Yachticon, a specialist in maintenance and antifouling products, of which he is sales director. Mr. Tegeler says that as a member of the committee, he wants to"contribute to making the show even better, with new ideas to keep the boating market modern, and answers to future challenges, such as Internet activity".

Lewmar continues its association

Peter Tierney, Lewmar's director since 2008, also joins the committee. This experienced yachtsman wishes to participate in maintaining the METS as the main B2B event for yachting. Lewmar thus maintains its partnership with the show.

The next METSTRADE will be held in Amsterdam from 15 to 17 November 2016.
