METS 2016, An ever-growing trade fair

METS Exhibition

METS 2016 opens in Amsterdam on 15 November. On the program, always more space, always more exhibitors and many conferences.

Record edition

METS 2016 confirms its status as the world's largest boat industry trade fair. The dedicated space within the RAI Amsterdam is still 3000 m² larger than in previous years. With 1471 nautical companies registered, METS beats its own record, with a number of exhibitors up 6% compared to 2015.

The organizers expect more than 22,000 visitors from all over the world during the 3 days of the show.

Material demonstrations

The stands are organized in the national pavilions, but also in the 3 pavilions dedicated to the Superyacht, Marina and Construction, Materials and Construction markets.

New this year, the Construction and Materials Pavilion will have a demonstration area. In particular, Resoltech will be presenting its composite repair system chosen by the Volvo Ocean Race, or SPRINT, Gurit's fibre/resin ration control system.

Conferences

The METS is the occasion for numerous meetings for the various branches of boating. During the event and starting Monday, November 14

  • global Superyacht Forum
  • the conference on sustainable development in the nautical industry
  • hISWA, Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction
  • the activities of the Young Professionals Club, reserved for professionals under 35 years of age.

The winners of the DAME Design Award, announced at the opening of the exhibition, will present their products throughout the event in the InnovationLAB in Hall 6.

After the official closure of METS on 17 November, events continue with the end of the ICOMIA World Marina Conference, dedicated to the future of marinas in a changing world.
